I'm sure most people on this forum know of Itri's fantastic Neva Kar. Since it's an m4a file, and thus not a valid file for attachment, I'm providing the link (http://www.phaedonsinis.com/audio/nevakar.m4a) for where it could be downloaded, courtesy of Phaedon Sinis. However, I am attaching the music (pdf), also courtesy of Phaedon Sinis.
Listening to this piece, especially the tennenna, was like listening to straight up Byzantine music. For instance, listen to this (http://www.ecclesia.gr/Multimedia/Audio_Index/Tapes/Apo_to_Pathos_stin_Anastasi/13a.wma) Byzantine terirem in the first plagal tone, composed by Petros Peloponneseos o Lampadarios (18th c.) and performed by Konstantinos Bilalis and Athanasios Pappathanassiou from this (http://www.melkar.gr/details.asp?id=32&category1=1&category2=2) CD. (Again, the file is not valid, so I'm providing the link for download.)
Enjoy!
