Yesterday a very interesting CD fell into my hands: "The Arabic Tradition in Moroccan Music" by the Moroccan singer and oud player Abdeslam Cherkaoui, published by Auvidis/UNESCO in 1988 (D 8002). Unfortunately the booklet is almost nonexistent (the previous owner must have poured some liquid over it and let it dry in the sun; only the front and back side are left to be viewed), so I can't give further information on the artist. Still it is very nice music as you can see (or rather hear) from the example attached, a song called "Nehki Lik".

Dear Hatim, I never heard about this musician. You're sure he published a CD under his name? I just searched the internet and all I found were a few mentions of "professeur Saleh Charki, compositeur et joueur de lyre exceptionnel", but just with reference to a concert in 1992 - nothing about a recording. Did you ask the guy who posted the files in zeryab forum?
