This is dor / 3azuli fel hawa
Columbia D13383 (EZ65/66)

About which I know nothing. It is not listed as one of Dawud Husni's dor-s in Mahmud Kamil's book, and the Syrian musicologist Mahmud 3Ajjan doesn't mention it at all in "Turathuna al-musiqi". Any ideas, ya nas ?

Beautiful dor. No information, but it sounds like Uthman specially the style of the Ahat.

3ajjan by the way was a very dear friend of my dad and mum when they were teachers in Lattaquiah - Syria in the early fifties (Ayyam el We7dah)!!

I presume the maqam is Nahawand?

I've known this dawr for some time (actually I got in on a cassette along with a bunch of taqatiq of the twenties, but I've never had any information thereon. The maqam seems to be nahawand (with a swift slip into nawa 'athar in the madhhab). As for the composer, I can't say. I would be inclined to think it's Dawud Husni but I have no certainty about that.
