Rou7 Allah Yedeemak we Yerham Jeddak

This is a complete Mevlevi ceremony! I think it's a Mevelvi Ayin, I'm not sure though, I'm sure Ambrose and Hakem and the Turkish brothers can give us more info.

This is the heart of Ottoman tradition.

I think the Soloist is Kani Karaca.

Thanks Aboul Ghayth. Thanks a lot!

most definitely Kani Karaca.

The ney sounds more like niyazi than aka gunduz.

there is some interference from a mobile phone in one of the tracks.

in the same track, the two channels drift apart considerably, then go back as if nothing happened.

was this in the reel, or could it have been in the transfer?

I can try to fix it but it will take time.

wonderful recording.

Thank you again (and your grandfather, who obviously had very good taste in turkish music).

I have not had any time to download this, let alone listen to it. I'd just like to add a not about a recently bought CD of mine. It is called "Returning. The Mevlevi Ensemble of Turkey Playing Ferahnak Ashiran Ayin, A Ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes, Directed by Dogan Ergin With Kani Karaca as Soloist", Interworld Music, 1994. As far as I could find out it doesn't seem to be available commercially anymore. If there is interest I could upload it, though probably not before some time next week - I'll be out from day after tomorrow for a few days.

Do you really need to ask Ambrose! Of course!

And thanks a bunch for the tracks by Abul Ghaith. They're terrific. The Hicaz Humayun Pesrev (and Saz Semai) by Veli Dede are terrific pieces that get me every time.

Anton Efendi

aside from the taksim, the piece is the Seyfettin Osmanoglu Pesrev Beyati.

As for track 6, it's Refik Fersan Nikriz Saz Semai.

We have both pieces performed by Kudsi Erguner and his ensemble. I'm far from being as knowledgeable as you guys in this field, but I liked much both the pesrev and the semai based on that performance.

Anton! When I said "we have them", I meant in this forum. I had uploaded the contents of the whole CD entitled Fasl in Hicaz Humayûn. It shouldn't be difficult to spot the thread in this section. If you can't find it, just let me know!

Guys! The performance beauty is amazing and the sound quality is excellent. I just think the tracks here don't correspond to those on a CD or a commercial cassette tape. For instance, the 'ud teqsim preceding the bayati pesrev is not related to that pesrev.

how about these guys?

the kanun here does sound like Cuneyd Kosal to me.

(note, the singer in the middle is Birgit Recep, who obviously has nothing to do with this performance, but I do mean the instrumentalists.).

By the way, the veli dede performance here is amazing.

It is indeed. But, I only spotted the pesrev in track 8, unless the semai is in another track.

Dear 3amr; like you said it's Cuneyd Kosal, and the other instrumetnalist are:

Neyzen: Dogan Ergin
Kanun: Cuneyt Kosal
Solist: Recep Birgit like you said
Kemence: Cuneyd Orhon
Tanbur: Necdet Yasar

thanks for making everything clear, but tell me, do you think they might be playing?

I haven't heard Dogan alone to tell if it might be him on the ney,
as for Orhon and Yasar, how they sound like could depend on the recording conditions, so I can't judge again.

The kanuni, as I said, does sound like Kosal to me.

As far as I can tell, Dogan was a great neyzen.
As for your friend, I'm sure Abul Ghaith would not mind if you share it with him, the whole purpose of this forum is sharing this heritage with everybody.

I listened to all tracks and made a detailed list of them..
Sorry for being so late, because I am a newcomer.
And thanks a lot for these beautiful tracks..

1- Ilahi, "Dağlar ile taşlar ile"

2- Ilahi, "Taştı Rahmet Deryası"

3- Hamd Ilahi, traditionally sang in mevlevihanes and in some kind of tekkes
after diner. (we could say in the time period between "maghrib salah" and "Isha'a salah")
(Lyrics are belonged to Sıddık Naci Eren)

4- Ghazal, sang by Kani Karaca.. This kind of ghazal is known as
Durak,which means "Stop",like qarar ;)

5- Segah Niyaz Ilahi,a.k.a "Şem'i Ruhuna Cismimi Pervane Düşürdüm"
(here,we could only hear these couple of lyrics of the ilahi if I don't have
any problem with my pc :

Şem'i ruhuna cismimi pervane düşürdüm
Evrak-ı dili âteş-i sûzâna düşürdüm

6- Nikriz Saz Semai, composed by Tanburi Refik Fersan

7- * Oud Taksim -improvisation- (makam: Bayati)
* Ney Taksim -improvisation- (makam: Bayati)
* Bayati Pesrev,1st and 2nd Parts/Hane-s,composed by Seyfettin Osmanoglu

8- * Hicaz Humayun Pesrev 1st and 2nd Parts/Hane-s (composed by Veli Dede)
* a very short semai (6/8 yuruk semai) from Hicaz Mevlevi Ceremony composed by Nayi Osman Dede
* Tekke Semaisi (Muhayyer) (anonymous)
* from the middle of 3rd Selam of Ferahfeza Mevlevi Ceremony, (composed by Dede Efendi)
-and finally the latest Yuruk Semai of the Ceremony at the same makam : Ferahfeza)
but this final semai is not belonged to Dede Efendi but Zeki Mehmed Aga,who composed
this semai after many years later.this semai is traditionally played and accepted as the last
part of Dede Efendi's composition of Ferahfeza Mevlevi Ceremony.
