Recently I found a nicely made website giving a brief introduction into Rembetika music with infos about some of the most important artists of this wonderful music. The site offers quite some of musical examples also , so that each artist featured can be heard in one or two good quality mp3-files:

The link also mention the book translated by Ed Emery. He is the guy organising all the conferences in London, and it was through preparing to a Muashshah conference that I met Ed and got introduced to the wonderful world of Rebetiko.
