Let me introduce you to the wonderful wonderful voice of Kurdish singer Aynur

I have spotted Aynur in Fatih Akin's film "Crossing the Bridge - The sound of Istanbul" it's a German film about the big music mosaic of istanbul. I immediately fell in love with her voice.

They stopped a bit at the voice of Aynur. It caused a hit in Turkey being the first Kurdish artist to be recorded and released in Turkey.

In fact a court ruled against the song that I posted on the basis that it encouraged kurdish separatist! However another court overruled that decision and young Aynur now is household name in Istanbul.

What I found nice is that she uses electronics but in a very subtle way that doesn't spoil the originality of the songs. It really take art to do that!
