مشاهدة جميع الاصدارات : Two Taksims on Oud by Yurdal Tokcan

The famous contemporary oud master Yurdal Tokcan has played on a series of not-so-well-known CDs called "Bektasi Nefesleri" ("The Bektashi Breathes"). I have the first two volumes ("uyur idik uyardilar" and ""meded senden sultanim Ali"), but I know that at least one more volume has been produced.

The ensemble, directed by Gürsel Kocak (who is otherwise unknown to me), includes some quite illustrious names like Kani Karaca, Ihsan Özgen, Göksel Baktagir and of course Yurdal Tokcan. Both CDs were published by Cemre Müzik in 1997. I give here two Ud Taksims by Yurdal Tokcan, one from each album, in Ussak and Hicaz respectively.

Thanks Ambrose,

Yurdal is my favourite Udi bar none.

The bektashi brotherhood is a popular version of the more elitist mevlevi order, it has a lot of similarities with the Aleppian Sufi School.
