Yeni Nesh'i Muhabbet.
One of the most gorgeous Hicaz songs of all times by Dede Efendi.
You have no idea how long I've been looking for this. :D
Amr
well, you're most definitely succeeding.
there's still Hatem bey (took the liberty of promoting him), who hasn't gotten around to checking out his little present.
Words are too short to describe the feeling I got listening to this. It is beauty itself, as if it is not human! Thank you Najib Basha.
The source of this piece is:
Hammamizade İsmail Dede Efendi (from the series: Türk Bestekarlari Serisi). It is track 9.
"Yine Nesh-i Muhabbet": In Turkish "new, happy love"
Can someone provide the lyrics in Turkish and/or a translation? I would be grateful.
I must admit that it was Dede Efendi who pushed to fall in love with Ottoman music. I shall post the pieces that I first encountered, for beauty is not complete until it is shared!
Yine neşe-i muhabbet
Yine neşe-i muhabbet dil-ü canım etti şeyda
Yine bezm-i ıyş-i vuslat edip ahl-i aşkı ihya
Aman ey gül-i nihalim beni eyle vasla sayan
Sana can u dil fedadır gönül andelib-i güya
O güzel başın için, o hilal kaşın içün
Gel gel aşık-ı nalan, gel gel dil sana hayran
The translation to follow.
Excellent Hakim,
I can see by translating, relying on Arabic, that the first line talks about the New Love that is springing, but I could be wrong!
but from the Choir of the Turkish state conducted by Nevzat Atlig.
The original recording isn't great unfortunately.
Thanks a lot Najib. it is clear enough! I like Atlig's choir more by the way. If you can post the first one again with a 128 bite rate, I would be thankful :)
