    إفتراضي Mitri Coutya - Ploychronion

The Antiochian Orthodox church has lost a Patriarch (Ignatius IV) and welcomed a new one (John X) in the last couple of weeks.

There is a piece in church that wishes the new Patriarch long life (hence the word poly chronion). It's usually a very demanding piece that is sung at the end of festive liturgy.

I found one in my archive composed by my father and sung to the Patriarch Alexander III (Early 20th century).

    Maqam Nahawand, sung in Greek.

    I hope you'll like it

Najib, I am really struck by the beauty and power of the voice here. The marhoum had a voice of a rare quality.
